AMHERST, Mass. - Following the conclusion of Wednesday night's NIT First Round games, it was announced that UMass will face Seton Hall on Saturday at 11 AM. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN from Walsh Gymnasium in South Orange, N.J.

The Minutemen (23-11) advance to the NIT Second Round after Tuesday's epic 101-96 double-overtime win at Mississippi State. Chaz Williams scored 28 points, while Sean Carter added a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Seton Hall (21-12) defeated Stony Brook on Tuesday night 63-61 playing its first-ever postseason game in Walsh Gymnasium. Jordan Theodore scored a game-high 21 points with six assists, while Herb Pope was just shy of a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds.

This will mark just the fifth time the two programs have met on the hardwood. The Pirates have won the last two meetings including the most recent back in December 2010 at the Mullins Center. UMass is 3-2 all-time against the Seton Hall which includes a win in the 1977 NIT Quarterfinals. The Minutemen won that match-up 86-85 in the Springfield Civic Center for just its second-ever postseason win.
