Weekend Broadcast Info For Basketball & Hockey

AMHERST, Mass. - With the UMass men's basketball and hockey teams in postseason action this weekend, here is the broadcast information for the action involving the Minutemen. All of the games will be carried on the radio for both teams with streaming audio online. Television coverage will be available for the men's hoop game on Friday, but not on cable television in Massachusetts. Live streaming video will be available for all games.FRIDAY UPDATE AT 5 p.m.
Comcast Cable in Western Massachusetts will carry the game on Channel 283.

"We have worked diligently to get the best possible coverage for both teams this weekend," said Associate Athletic Director for Media Relations Jason Yellin. "We are very thankful to Clear Channel of Springfield and Sean Davey for facilitating a way for both the hockey and basketball games to be carried on Friday night. When it comes to the television situation for the A-10 Quarterfinal game, we have run into some unfortunate programming conflicts in Massachusetts. We have exhausted every option including local and regional television stations and are still exploring any possible outlets at this time. We understand how important it is for our fans to be able to watch this game."
On Friday, the UMass at Boston College game in the Hockey East Quarterfinals will air on KIX 97.9 FM with coverage starting at 7 p.m. The Atlantic 10 Quarterfinal between UMass and Richmomnd will air on the UMass Sports Network starting with an 8:30 p.m. pregame show. Tip is expected just after 9 p.m., but could be later depending on the conclusion of the first evening quarterfinal between Dayton and Xavier. The following stations will carry Friday's basketball game: 100.9 FM WRNX in Western Massachusetts; 830 AM WCRN in Central Massachusetts; 1060 AM WBIX in Eastern Massachusetts and 95.9 WATD on the South Shore of Boston.
Television coverage for Friday's Quarterfinal is as follows: Comcast Cable Channel 283 in Western Massachusetts, Fox Sports Ohio (available on DirecTV Channel 661 and Dish Network 427) , Cox Sports in Rhode Island and Connecticut, Comcast Sports Southeast, The Comcast Network in Philadelphia and the Mid-Atlantic Region and Charter 8 in St. Louis.
The game will televised on a tape delay on Comcast SportsNet New England at 2 a.m.
On Saturday, should the basketball team advance to the A-10 Semifinals, it will be televised on CBS College Sports National starting at 3:30 p.m. The radio coverage for the basketball game will be on 100.9 FM WRNX, 830 AM WCRN and 95.9 WATD beginning with the pregame at 3 p.m.
Saturday's Hockey East Quarterfinal game would be broadcast on 100.9 FM WRNX and 1060 AM WBIX.
