NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Alongside La Salle's Ramon Gallaoway, redshirt sophomore Raphiael Putney took home Co-A-10 men's basketball Player of the Week on Monday. This is the first weekly honor that a Minuteman has won this season, as Putney pitched in towards the 72-59 winning effort over Saint Louis on Friday afternoon at the Mullins Center.

With his third double-double of the season, Putney netted a career-high 22 points, while grabbing 10 rebounds for the Minutemen. The explosive second-year was one-of-three UMass players to end the contest in double-figures, while leading the team overall in points.

The men's basketball team is back in action, looking for their third straight win this Wednesday's with a trip to Rhode Island for a clash with the Rams at 7 p.m.
