UMass now leads the series with East Carolina, 2-0. The Minutemen won 63-58 in Greenville last season. UMass is also 10-8 against current Conference USA members.
UMass opened the game on a 14-0 run over the first 5:00. They also used a 16-0 run in the second half after ECU had cut the margin to 47-44. They now have 10 runs this season with at least a plus-9 margin in them.
The Minutemen finished with four players in double-figures, marking the third time that has happened this season (4 vs. Providence and 5 vs. NC State).

Freddie Riley made four 3-pointers in the game and finished with a season-high 14 points. It was his first multi-3-pointer game of the season and his first since last season's final against Stanford when he made two. His last game with 4 makes was against Central Connecticut (12/30/11). He has 165 plus today for his career 3-pointers made which is 7th all-time in school history.
UMass is currently riding a four-game winning streak; it's longest of the season. They are 19-2 at home, dating back to the start of the 2011-12 season.
