With the 92-90 win this afternoon against LSU, UMass secured a victory in its first ever matchup against the Tigers.

Dating back to the 2012-13 season, the Minutemen are now 11-5 overall at the Mullins Center.
The Minutemen shot 40 free throws today, shooting 70% from the charity stripe. UMass has now shot 64 free throws though two games this season.
Senior Chaz Williams scored 24 points and dished out nine assists against the Tigers. This is the second time in as many games that Williams has scored at least 20 points.
Three other Minutemen scored in double-figures today as well, including Sampson Carter (17), Cady Lalanne (16) and Raphiael Putney (14).
UMass forced 13 LSU turnovers as a result of its defensive pressure, bringing its season total to 29 though two games.
Center Cady Lalanne fouled out with 2:15 left in regulation and only played 20 minutes due to foul trouble throughout the game. The junior shot a team-best 8-for-10 from the field and grabbed six rebounds.
Sampson Carter hit four key free throws down the stretch to solidify the win and add to his career high performance. The senior hit a career-high 11 free throws on 15 attempts. Carter's free throw performance led to the senior tying his career-best with 17 points.
Raphiael Putney was a rebound shy of his sixth career double-double leading the team with nine while scoring 14 points.
