AMHERST, Mass. - Gary Forbes became the 39th player in UMass history with 1,000 points. He reached his 1,000th point on a jumper in the paint with 5:40 left in the first half. Including 511 points in his first two years at Virginia, Forbes now has 1531 in his four-year college career.
Forbes continued to score in double-figures in every game of his career with 79. Forbes has scored 10 or more in 33 games in a row dating to last season.
Forbes scored 20 or more points for the 17th time in 29 games this year. Forbes had his sixth game with 25 points this season.
Forbes has his ninth double-double of the year with 26 points and 11 rebounds.
Forbes now has the eighth-best single season scoring mark with 590. He passed Monty Mack (566).
Dante Milligan reached double-figures for the 10th time this season with 18 points. He had 10 in the first half alone.
Ricky Harris scored in double-figures for the 26th time in 29 games this season with 21 points. He made four 3-pointers to move to ninth in single-season 3-pointers with 87. He passed Anthony Anderson, who had 74.
Tony Gaffney reached double-figures in rebounding for the third time this season.
Luke Bonner drew two charges.
