Tony Gaffney became the first college player since Shelden Williams (Duke in 2005-06) with 100 blocks and 50 steals in a season. Gaffney, who entered the game with 104 blocks and 49 steals, now has 107 blocks and 52 steals in his senior season. Since 1996-97, there have been five players in the NCAA to have 100 blocks and 50 steals in a season: Gaffney, Williams, Mike Sweetney (Georgetown, 2002-03), Sitapha Savane (Navy, 1999-2000) and Rodger Farrington (Arizona State, 1996-97).

UMass set the school record for 3-pointers in a game with 16. Three times before UMass had made 15: earlier this season vs. Hofstra, vs. Green Bay last season and against Temple in 1997.

UMass attempted a school-record in 3-pointers with 35. Previously, UMass had taken 33 against Boston College this year and at Saint Joseph's in 2008.

Ricky Harris scored in double-figures for the 24th time in 26 games with 14. He has been in double-figures in 64 of his 94 career games.

Harris moved to 15th in career scoring at UMass with his 14. Harris passed Billy Tindall (1,277) and now has 1,278.

Chris Lowe moved to 32nd in career scoring with 12. He passed Shannon Crooks (1,074) and now has 1,082.

Lowe had his 16th game this season in double-figures and 46th of his career.

Lowe had 11 assists, his 14th career game, eighth this season in double-figure assists. Lowe now has 651 assists in his career, adding to his UMass career record total. Lowe is also sixth in career assists in the Atlantic 10.

Off the bench, Anthony Gurley had 18 points, his 14th game this season in double-figures.

Matt Glass had his season-high with 12 points. His previous best was nine against IUPUI (12/27). It's the second time he scored in double-figures in his career. He had a career-high 14 against St. Bonaventure (2/24/08).

 

 

Gaffney had 10 rebounds for his 17th game this season with double-figure rebounds.

Glass drew his fourth charge of the season.

Gary Correia drew his first charge of the season.

Luke Bonner opened the game with a 3-pointer, his 12th game in a row with a trey.

UMass suffered its first-ever loss to Duquesne at the Mullins Center, the Minutemen were 7-0 prior to this game.
