*UMass and Rhode Island played for the 130th time, the most of any rival of the Minutemen. UMass leads the all-time series now 75-55, the most of any wins against a school all-time.

*The win is the fifth for the Minutemen against teams in the top 50 in RPI. Two of the wins were at the expense of Rhode Island.

*UMass had three players score 20 or more points for the third time this season and first since Duquesne (1/30) as Gary Forbes (23), Etienne Brower (26), and Chris Lowe (21) all had 20.

*Etienne Brower reached double-figures for the eighth game in a row and 19th game this season with 26, which was a career-high. He had 10 in the game's first 13 minutes.

*Brower had his fifth game with 20 or more points this season and of his career.

*Brower continued his blazing shooting from 3-point range making 5-of-7, making him better than 50 percent over the last 11 games. He is 30-of-58.

*Gary Forbes continued to score in double-figures in every game this season as he had 23. He had 10 or more points in 30 consecutive games.

*Forbes had more than 20 for the 16th time this season.

*Chris Lowe also scored in double-figures for the 15th time this season and fifth in the last six games.

*Lowe had his third game in a row with double-figure assists with 10.

*Tony Gaffney had his most points (8) in a game since scoring nine against Central Connecticut on Dec. 22, when he had nine.
