Jeff Viggiano On Shooting Pressure Free Throws
I just tried to keep my mind as clear as possible. It was not very loud in here and there weren't a lot of student fans sitting behind the basket which made it easier. I just had to focus and execute the routine of shooting. it feels good to hit them in that situation and help the team win.
On La Salle Stretching The Game
We couldn't take any time off the clock because they had so many fouls to give. We just did a good job of executing our screens on the in-bound plays and I was able to convert the free throws.
On Going To OVertime
We knew La Salle was going to make a run in the game. We're an experienced team now in overtime, so we weren't worried when we got down and time was short.
Head Coach Steve Lappas
We've played well in overtime all season. Maurice Maxwell hit a big three when we were down with just under six minutes left. Our zone was not working well today, but i thought we stepped up well playing man-to-man. I knew it was going to be a tough game today I was worried about our zone. All year it has been good against three-point shooting, but for whatever reason, not so today. I thought we got great shots, but we had a tough time getting them to drop.
On Play of Stephane Lasme
Lasme did a great job on Smith holding him just 2-for-11 and he added 13 rebounds so an all around good game for Stephane.
On Overtime Strategy
We feel that if we get the ball inside to Rashaun Freeman, we can put the pressure on teams and that worked for us in overtime today. We can't forget the shooting of Viggiano at the line either. I'm happy for our guys and they are starting to see the program blossoming. I said guys 'this is our thing' when we went to overtime.
