CINCINNATI (AP) - Freshman Justin Cage scored a career-high 12 points and Xavier capitalized on poor Massachusetts shooting to earn its fourth consecutive win, 64-44 over the Minutemen on Saturday.

The Musketeers (14-9, 5-5 Atlantic 10) matched their longest winning streak of the season while holding the Minutemen (9-13, 3-7) to season lows for points and shooting at a 27.8 percent.

Aaron Myles also scored 12 points for Xavier to reach double figures for the fifth consecutive game. Justin Doellman added 11 points and Lionel Chalmers had 10 for Xavier.

Freshman Art Bowers led Massachusetts with 10 points. The Minutemen scored their fewest points since a 63-38 loss to Saint Joseph's on Jan. 5, 2002.

Cage matched his previous career high with 10 first-half points. He made back-to-back 3-pointers to help Xavier open a 14-2 lead less than five minutes into the game.

The Minutemen missed nine of their first 10 shots and their first six 3-point attempts on their way to shooting 5-for-28 in the first half.

The teams combined for 37 turnovers.

UMass men's basketball returns to action Wednesday, Feb. 18 with a 7:00 p.m. home contest against Rhode Island. UMass will hold a Tribute to Al Skinner during the game and retire his No. 30.
