Chris Lowe scored his 1,000th career point on a driving, spinning lay-up at 14:29. He became the 41st player in UMass history to break the barrier. He joins Ricky Harris for a 1,000-point backcourt. Lowe now has 1,012 points in his career after scoring 13 in the game. He is now 40th in career scoring, passing Stephane Lasme (1,011) on the all-time list. It was Lowe's 11th game this season with double-figures.
Lowe also had 10 assists for the seventh time this season and 13th time in his career, all in his last 33 games.
Ricky Harris (21) and Tony Gaffney (12) nearly combined to outscore 39-33 Richmond in the second half by themselves. Harris (3) and Gaffney combined (0) three first half points and went for 33 in the second half.
