Travis Ford
"Obviously we tried to focus on (Brian) Roberts as much as we could to try and slow him down. I thought our guys did a good job and were focused on the game plan and executing it almost to perfection in terms of what we were trying to do. We were a team that was disappointed in our last time out and we responded. We looked like a wounded team out there and we responded. I think this was a team that was a ready to fight. Both teams played extremely hard and this was a very tough game."

(About practice for the past week) "We had double sessions everyday. It was just punishment almost. It wasn't pretty, but now it's paying off."

"We focused on Roberts as much as we could to shut him down. We executed almost to perfection. We wanted one of their other guys to beat us. Not to say they don't have other guys that can step up. I was scared Binnie might get hot, Sandoval and Johnson are good players. I didn't want to lose him [Brian Roberts], so that was the first time we didn't press for 40 minutes all season."

"You just saw a team that was ready to fight." (talking about UMass)

"When he [Etienne Brower] shoots the ball well we're a better basketball team. He's the X-factor, and tonight he shot it well."

"I have the utmost respect for Brian Gregory and what he's doing here with this program. Dayton is one of the best teams in the nation without question at No. 14. This one of the toughest places to play."

"I told our team to expect a comeback. It's about how you respond to it. They came back and even took the lead, but we responded well."

Head Coach Brian Gregory
"As I said a week ago, in this league if you don't come ready to scrap and play, you're going to have a hard time winning the game and that doesn't matter where you are playing at, who you're playing, where you're ranked and what your record is at. I think we didn't play aggressive enough and do the things we had been doing. When you don't do that against at team like UMass, you end up on the losing end and that ended up what happened."

"We've been talking about it all year long and we're not going to change our approach. We have to evaluate this game and we have to move forward. As of right now, just like if we won the game, we're not good enough and we have to be better, especially in this league. We'll look at the tape and look at things we didn't do well enough. Give them credit, that's a very good team and they are going to win a lot of games. This is going to be 13 hard-fought games coming up. Every game is going to be a battle."

Brian Roberts
"It was full out denial. As soon as I gave the ball up, it was tough to get it back. They would run two or three guys at me randomly and they came out and executed their game plan well."

"We knew that was the key coming into the game. It let us down a little bit. Most of their points came in transition and on dribble drives and kick outs. We didn't execute. The key was we knew shooting would help us win the game."

"It's just one game though. We have to keep our heads up. We knew UMass was a good team. It shows how tough the A-10 will be from here on out. We just have to bring our game every day."
