Recap |  Box Score |  Notes

Steve Lappas on the game:
"Among other things, we couldn't rebound the ball. We couldn't do a lot of things, but when you can't rebound, good things don't happen. I thought offensively we did not play good at all.

"Our guys played very hard on the defensive end. We stopped the guys we felt we needed to stop. But, we did not play smart at all offensively. That's the story of the game.

"Today we lost our poise on the offensive end. - I'm very annoyed at our shot selection. This is a lot like (the loss to) Boston College. We didn't move the ball well. We didn't take good shots and we paid for it.

''They decided to play behind (Dwayne Jones) with a bigger guy and make him shoot over them and it hurt. There's no doubt it hurts us. We only scored 52 points and he played one of his worst games since he's been in college. But I thought our perimeter guys didn't take the best shots either. We still could have won this game with him playing that way had we made some better decisions on the perimeter.

''We need to bounce back this time, because we're playing a team that's been the best team in the league."

Steve Lappas on playing on the road:
''On the road you don't have the comfort zone that you do at home. You have to create the comfort zone. Poise is a big part of that. Experience is really the only way to fix that. We should be more experienced to not let that happen.''

Phil Martelli on Jeff Salovski:
''When I first showed our guys the tape (of the Xavier game), our first reaction was an immature reaction. Our guys laughed. Then I turned around and said 'How many of you guys have had 21 points in an Atlantic 10 game?' The kid catches every ball. He has great hands. He has footwork. All he has to do is drop some weight. That kid is going to make money playing basketball because he scores baskets. I bet in a year and a half, that he will almost be unguardable in the Atlantic 10. He has game.''

Anthony Anderson on the game and atmosphere:
"That's going to come with maturity, playing hard all the time. ... Maybe it was the crowd for some guys. It's a small gym and they get in here, they get loud, and they talk to you even before the game starts. No game has been like that for us this season.

''This is a little gym. They get loud, they talk to you way before the game starts. No game we've played this season has been like this. Hopefully going into Saturday, this will be a lesson for us.''
