  • UMass improved to 9-0 when leading at the half.

  • The Minutemen shot 69.6% (16-for-23) from the free throw line. They entered the game at .680

  • UMass finished with 21 assists on 25 field goals.

  • UMass forced a season-high five turnovers from its press and scored six points off those. For the game, the Minutemen netted 16 points off 18 Red Hawk turnovers. UMass had nine steals, its second most this season (10 vs. Boston College in the opener).

  • Chaz Williams finished with 18 points and 8 assists. He scored 11 points in his first 11 minutes on the floor. He had shot .311 from the floor in the last four games.

  • Raphiael Putney broke out of a mini slump, finishing with 8 points and 2 3-pointers. He had scored two points in each of the last two games and missed his last six 3-pointers coming into the contest. He made 2 of his first 3 shots from outside against the RedHawks.

  • Maxie Esho continued his strong play this season as he posted 15 points, 7 boards and 4 assists. He had four assists all season and dished out a trio of dimes in the first half before finishing with a career high four.

  • Sampson Carter finished with seven points, scoring all of them in the final 4:29.

  • After allowing Miami to score the first four points off a pair of turnovers, UMass went on a 11-0 run.
