Matt Vogel, a two-time Massachusetts graduate, is entering his first season in his new role of video operations director where he oversees all film management duties for both the men's and women's programs.
A native of Brookly, N.Y., he previously served as operations coordinator following a summer 2014 promotion. Prior to his move to operations, he served for four seasons as video coordinator.
Vogel has spent more than nine years as a manager and coordinator for the Minutemen under head coaches Derek Kellogg and Travis Ford. Since heading up the team's video unit in the summer of 2009, he has assisted the coaching staff with scouting reports, highlights and film exchange. He also has overseen the student managers and been the Assistant Director of the Derek Kellogg Basketball School.
Vogel spent two years as a graduate assistant after serving as video coordinator during the 2009-2010 season.
Vogel graduated from UMass in 2009 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Sport Management and a sociology minor. In 2012 he added a master's degree in higher education. As an undergraduate, Vogel was a team manager all four seasons, serving as the head manager his senior year.
