Derek Kellogg sets his staff for the 2011-12 season.

Tom Doherty, who joined the basketball operations staff last August, was elevated to Director of Player Personnel/Assistant to the Head Coach.

"Having Tom on staff in his role gives us a person with great credibility, unmatched work ethic and someone who is a valuable asset to myself, the UMass community and our program," Kellogg said. "He fulfilled everything we asked of him and more over the past year."

Last season, as the Assistant Operations Coordinator, Doherty coordinated all of the basketball program's community outreach programs, assisted with class monitoring and helped promote the UMass basketball brand as a whole.
