DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Massachusetts baseball team (9-9, 2-4 Atlantic 10) lost at Dayton (14-17, 4-5 Atlantic 10) by the score of 5-1 this afternoon at the UD Sports Complex.

UMass sophomore Frank Curreri (Weymouth, Mass.) had a game-high three hits, while senior third baseman Matt Reynolds (South Boston, Mass.) and freshman DH Devin Barnett (New Orleans, La.) each had two hits.

Minutemen junior starter Mike Crane (Braintree, Mass.) went into the sixth inning, but allowed six hits, four runs and two walks. Offensively, the Minutemen had 11 hits, but left eight runners on base and could only manage one run. Dayton starter Luke Trubee (Xenia, Ohio) stole the show retiring 21 of the 27 batters he faced by scattering nine hits over seven innings. He allowed just one run, issued no walks and had three strikeouts for his third win of the year.

The Minutemen return to action this Tuesday, Apr. 13, as they host Connecticut at 3:00 p.m. on Lorden Field.
