BRADENTON, Fla. - UNI defeated Massachusetts, 7-5, in a rescheduled game at the IMG Baseball Academy in Bradenton, Fla. All nine Panthers were able to get a hit in the victory, with senior Seth Moulton leading the team with three. UMass senior Mike Athas (Holyoke, Mass.) led the Minutemen with three hits and an RBI.

Southpaw Jake Hansen had a good outing on the mound, striking out eight batters.

The Panthers didn't take long to find their rhythm today as the first four batters had hits. Moulton lead the game off with an infield single, Pat Moran moved him to second on his single to left field, while Dan Grant cleared the bases with a home run. The seniors blast went about 400 feet over the scoreboard in right center and he gave UNI the early 3-0 lead. Sean LaCoste and Joe Burgett rounded out the Panthers five hits in the first inning.

The Minutemen added two runs in the third inning, but UNI responded with two of its own in the fourth. John Winter scored from third on a wild pitch and Moran's single into left scored Jose Guzman. UMass scored three to tie the game up in the bottom of the sixth off of four hits.

In the top of the seventh, UNI knew it needed to respond as the game was scheduled to go just seven innings. LaCoste and Armando Lara starting things off with singles, when Winter had the game winning RBIs with his single into center. Drew Wold came into the game in the bottom half to close down the Minutemen for his first save as a Panther.
