Baseball Rolls Over Panthers, 11-5
March 20, 2004 BRADENTON, Fla. - The University of Massachusetts baseball team (5-3) won its third straight game with an 11-5 victory over the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee (2-5) at the IMG Baseball Academy in Bradenton, Fla. Sophomore Frank Curreri (Weymouth, Mass.) clubbed a first inning grand slam to lead the UMass attack. Sophomore Matt Torra (Pittsfield, Mass.) went seven innings for the win, his second of the year. He allowed just three earned runs, scattered nine hits while striking out six and allowing just one walk. Leftfielder Curt Szado (Monson, Mass.) also chipped in a pair of hits for the UMass offense.
UMass wraps up its spring trip on Saturday, March 20 with a 10:00 a.m. contest against Miami, Ohio.
