Georgetown, Del. - The University of Massachusetts (1-5) was defeated by Delaware (5-4) in the final game of its series against the Fightin' Blue Hens, 13-1. Delaware scored their runs by blasting UMass pitching for 18 hits and three home runs.

For the second straight game, Delaware leadoff hitter Brandon Menchaca led off the game with a homer and the Hens never looked back. They notched runs in every frame except for the fourth en route to their fourth consecutive victory.

Delaware's Bryan Hagerich was 3-for-4 in the win, blasting a home run of his own while driving in three. Scott Rambo received the win, throwing five innings and allowing just two hits.

For the Minutemen, junior Derrick Durepo and freshman Bryan Garrity provided all of the hits, tallying two each. The only run of the day for UMass came in the top of the ninth when sophomore Bryan Adamski crossed the plate on a Curt Szado groundout. Adamski reached third due to a two-base error by the second baseman and a wild pitch.

The Minutemen are back in action on Saturday, March 12 when they travel to Bradenton, Fla. to face Eastern Kentucky in the first game of a seven game trip.
