AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2001:
Picked up first career save in second game of Xavier series, recording the final two outs
Earned first career victory against St. Joseph’s, striking out seven in 5-2/3 innings of work out of the bullpen
Tossed one inning of perfect relief in win over Hartford
Threw one shutout inning at Harvard, striking out two batters
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2000:
Made 10 appearances, all in relief
Made his first collegiate appearance on March 4 at Florida, giving up one run on three hits in 1-2/3 innings
Struck out three in 1-1/3 innings of shutout relief against Virginia Tech
Had six strikeouts in three innings of relief in 5-4 win over Quinnipiac
HIGH SCHOOL:
Was 9-2 for with a 1.28 ERA and 89 strikeouts during senior season
A Connecticut High School Coaches Association All-Star in 1999
First team All-State selection by the Hartford Courant
Led team to Housatonic Division Championship in 1997 and 1999
Also a standout goalie on the Amity High soccer squad, he posted nine shutouts as a senior and allowed just 0.94 goals per game
