Shaun Skeffington enters his second season as an assistant coach at his alma mater after playing for four seasons under coach Stone at UMass. His duties will include infield, hitting and base-stealing instruction.

As a Minuteman, Skeffington played in 142 games with 127 starts at second base. He is ranked fourth on the UMass career stolen bases chart with 70, fifth in doubles with 40 and 10th in runs with 125. Skeffington had a career batting average of .300 with 149 hits, 64 RBIs and seven home runs. As a senior he was named to the Atlantic 10 Championship All-Tournament Team, hitting .444 with a double, a home run and five runs batted in during the tournament. Skeffington had 29 stolen bases in his junior year which was good enough for seventh on the UMass single-season list and he was selected to the All-Atlantic 10 second team.

A native of Fall River, Mass., Skeffington graduated from UMass in May of 2001 with a degree in Sport Management.
