AS A JUNIOR: Appeared in nine games, starting six... Did not play after April 30 due to a strained ligament in his right arm... Won his last four decisions of the season... Went 2-0 with a 3.96 ERA in Atlantic 10 games... Earned his first win of the season against Providence (4/8), allowing six runs on nine hits while striking out four in eight innings... Picked up the win in relief, allowing one run while scattering seven hits in 7.1 innings of work vs. Temple (4/13)... Came in with two outs and a runner on second to record the final out and earn his first collegiate save in 15-12 win over Rhode Island (4/24)... Allowed one earned run on six hits while striking out four in six innings of work to earn the win over Siena (4/30)...

AS A SOPHOMORE: Finished with a 4-2 record and a 4.12 ERA... Was 3-0 with a 0.84 ERA in Atlantic 10 games... Held right handers to a .192 batting average... Started against Virginia Tech in the Atlantic 10 championship game (5/13) and allowed two runs on five hits in 4-2/3 innings... Threw 2-1/3 scoreless innings of relief against Harvard (5/8)... Pitched a complete game three-hitter at St. Bonaventure (4/21), allowing no earned runs while striking out six... Threw a complete game three-hit shutout at Rhode Island (4/14), striking out five... Named Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week (4/15) following his performance at Rhode Island... Threw 4-2/3 innings of scoreless relief, allowing only two hits to earn the victory against Fordham (4/6)... Picked up his first win of the year at Hartford (3/28), allowing four hits and striking out six in seven innings of work...

AS A FRESHMAN: Went 3-1 with a 5.70 ERA... Was 3-0 with a 3.32 ERA and 13 strikeouts in his last three outings... Had four strikeouts in five innings in a win over New Hampshire (5/9)... Defeated Central Connecticut (5/4), allowing only one run and six hits in seven innings of work... Picked up his first collegiate win at Siena (4/26), allowing only two runs in seven innings, while striking out five...

BEFORE UMASS: Played baseball, football and basketball at Lee High School... Member of three consecutive Western Mass. championship baseball teams, including the 1992 team, which advanced to the state finals... Went 24-3 with a 1.24 ERA and 268 strikeouts in his high school career... Baseball team captain during his junior and senior seasons... Received all-state honors as a senior... A first-team All-Western Mass. selection in 1992, 1993 and 1994... Named the 1993 Berkshire County Athlete of the Year... Named baseball MVP as a senior... Received the 1994 Berkshire County Sportsmanship Award... A member of the 1994 New England High School All-Star team... Starting quarterback for the 1993 Western Mass. champions...
