  • Appeared in 20 games, seven as a starter
  • Ranked second on the team with a 3.54 earned run average
  • Led the Atlantic 10 in opponent batting average with a .232 mark
  • Tied for fourth in the Atlantic 10 in strikeouts with 75
  • Also picked up a team-high two saves out of the bullpen
  • Picked up win with a complete game performance over La Salle, striking out 13 batters while allowing one run and no walks
  • Allowed just 16 extra-base hits in 68-2/3 innings pitched
  • Shut down Siena for six innings, allowing no runs on just three hits
  • Threw a three-hit complete game shutout against St. Joseph?s in regular season finale, striking out eight while walking only two

    AS A SOPHOMORE IN 1999:

  • Had three saves, tying for seventh on the UMass single-season list

  • Allowed one hit in 2/3 of an inning, to pick up save against Yale
  • Threw first collegiate complete game and shutout, allowing three hits while striking out 10 and walking one in 13-0 win over Hartford
  • Tossed final 1-2/3 innings in Beanpot semis vs. Harvard to earn save
  • Earned save against Temple in the Atlantic 10 Tournament, pitching two innings of relief and striking out two batters

    AS A FRESHMAN IN 1998:

  • Second on the team with six relief appearances
  • Fanned four in 4-2/3 innings against Northeastern
  • Earned victory over Connecticut, striking out seven in seven innings

    HIGH SCHOOL:

  • Team Co-MVP as a senior, posting a 7-1 record with a 1.98 ERA
  • Struck out 52 batters with just 18 walks in 67 innings as a senior
  • Had 12-2 record, 1.71 ERA and 87 strikeouts in 110 career innings
  • Named to the 1997 Southern Connecticut Conference All-Star team
  • Also a member of the basketball team in his junior and senior years
  • Received Cheshire Kiwanis Sportsmanship Award in junior year
