  • The top designated hitter for the Minutemen, starting 26 games on the season
  • Had a season-high six-game hit streak from April 30-May 13
  • Went three for three with six RBI in 15-11 win over Virginia Tech
  • Hit his only home run of the season in 3-1 win at St. Bonaventure

    AS A FRESHMAN IN 1999:

  • Hit by pitch seven times, placing seventh on UMass single-season list
  • Had a seven-game hit streak from March 23-April 2, going 12 for 28 (.429) with three doubles, a homer, seven RBI and seven runs scored
  • Named A-10 Rookie of the Week on March 29, after going six for 15 with three doubles, a homer, six RBI and two runs scored in four games
  • Was four for six with an RBI and a run scored at South Florida
  • Hit first collegiate home run, a three-run shot, against Providence
  • Was four for five with a double, an RBI and a run scored at Duquesne
  • Redshirted in 1998

    HIGH SCHOOL:

  • Hit .400 with 26 RBI and 20 stolen bases as a senior in high school
  • Posted batting averages of .409 as a junior and .371 as a sophomore
  • Named to 1997 Connecticut High School Coaches Association All-Star Team, and played in the Connecticut-Massachusetts All-Star Game
  • Named team MVP in both his junior and senior seasons
  • Selected to the All-Southern Connecticut Conference team and Connecticut Post All-State second team after senior season
  • Named honorable mention Connecticut Post All-State as a junior
  • Earned three letters in football, as a wide receiver and defensive back
