Started 45 games at first base, hitting .306 with two homers and 20 RBI
Ranked second on the team in both hits (48) and doubles (11)
Had 13 multi-hit games and five multi-RBI games on the season
Went four for six with three doubles and two RBI in win over UConn
Was eight for 11 with two RBI in three-game set against Dayton
Went three for seven with three RBI in victory over Vermont
Had three hits in victory over Northern Illinois
Was two for three with a pair of RBI against Siena
Went two for four with two RBI in final game at St. Bonaventure
AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2001:
Named second team All-Atlantic 10 and second team All-New England
Earned honorable mention All-ECAC honors
Started every game of season at first base, while batting clean-up
Led the team in runs batted in (42), and tied for lead in doubles (13)
Ranks eighth on UMass single season list for hit-by-pitch with seven
Was two for four with a double, triple and two RBI in last Xavier game
Went four for five in the final game of the St. Joseph's series
Was four for five with two homers and four RBI against Hartford
Went three for five with a home run and three RBI at Harvard
Had a 12-game hitting streak from April 9-24, during which he went 17 for 43 (.395) with three homers and 15 runs batted in

Named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week and WHMP / UMass Athlete of the Week following St. Bonaventure series

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2000:
Was a solid contributer, appearing in 27 games at first base and DH
Had a pinch-hit single with two outs in eighth inning, bringing in the winning run in 6-5 Atlantic 10 Tournament win over St. Bonaventure
Went three for four with two home runs, including a grand slam over the Green Monster at Fenway Park, in Beanpot championship game
Collected his first career hit at South Florida on March 12
In UMass' two games vs. Northeastern, Altieri was a combined six for eight with three home runs, six RBI and three runs scored
HIGH SCHOOL:
Batted .450 and had a perfect 9-0 record on the mound, leading Northbridge to a 23-1 record and the state championship as a senior
Had a career pitching record of 24-2 and batted over .400
Also quarterbacked the Rams to a Super Bowl win and an 11-1 record as a senior, while throwing 52 career touchdown passes
Named the offensive MVP of the Shriners All-Star Classic in football
A team captain in baseball, football and basketball
A three-time Worcester Telegram & Gazette and Milford Daily News All-Star selection in both baseball and football
