Whitney Squires joined the University of Massachusetts Athletic Department as an assistant strength and condition coach in January 2013. Now in her second year in Amherst, Mass., Squires works with seven Minutewomen programs: field hockey, lacrosse, rowing, soccer, softball, swimming and diving and tennis.
Prior to her arrival at UMass, Squires spent four years as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Bryant University from 2009-12 where she helped train nine men's and women's teams. She also spent time at Brown University as an intern in 2008 prior to being hired as a full-time strength coach at Bryant.
Squires graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. She played four years of tennis for the Rams during undergrad.
Squires, a native of Bristol, R.I., holds NSCA-CSC, CPR and AED certifications.
