Former University of Massachusetts kicker Matt Goldstein teams with Josh Maurer as color analyst for UMass football broadcasts on the UMass Sports Network. The 2014 campaign marks his 11th season as color analyst and his 12th season as a part of the UMass Sports Network.
The Phoenix, Ariz., native can also be heard throughout the year at the Mullins Center as the public address announcer for UMass hockey and women's basketball and the on-court host for men's basketball. Goldstein served as public address announcer at Fenway Park for a Red Sox game against the Blue Jays in July 2012 and has filled in as PA announcer for the AHL's Lowell Devils and Triple-A Pawtucket Red Sox.
Goldstein joined the UMass Sports Network in 2003 as a sideline reporter and fill-in color analyst while redshirting as an undergraduate communications major. He finished his playing career as a kicker and punter for the Minutemen in 2004 after previously spending time at Oklahoma State University and the University of New Mexico. Since then, he has contributed as as a play-by-play announcer for webcasts on UMassAthletics.com as well. Goldstein has been part of seven Associated Press Massachusetts/Rhode Island award-winning broadcasts as part of the UMass Sports Network.
Goldstein lives in Worcester and is married to former UMass softball All-American and current Worcester Polytechnic Institute head softball coach Whitney (Mollica) Goldstein.
