Heather Gagne joined the University of Massachusetts Athletic Department as an assistant athletic trainer in 2012 after spending two years at the University of Rhode Island in the same capacity. At UMass, Gagne is responsible for all care related to the women's basketball and tennis programs.
As a member of the Rhody staff, Gagne also served as the trainer for the women's basketball and tennis squads. Before joining the Rhode Island athletic training office, Gagne worked for the American International College wrestling and women's lacrosse programs.
The Dartmouth, Mass., native attended Bridgewater State College and earned dual bachelor degrees in athletic training in 2008 as a member of the dean's list. Gagne moved to Providence College to study for a Masters of Education Counseling, which she received in 2010, while worked for the Friars as a graduate assistant.
Prior to earning her bachelor degrees, Gagne served as a member of the United States Marine Corp from 2001-05. Gagne currently resides in Holyoke, Mass., with her golden retriever, Charly and her cats, Binx and Rufus.
