Bob Behler is in his eighth year as "The Voice of the Minutemen" and his fifth as a member of the UMass athletic department, where he serves as the manager of broadcast properties. In addition to announcing many UMass games, he hosts radio coach's shows for football and men's and women's basketball. Behler is also in charge of managing the UMass Sports Network, which includes both radio and internet broadcasts, and also performs duties in media relations.

Behler has served as the "Voice of the Minutemen" since 1999, calling UMass football, men's basketball, ice hockey, men's lacrosse, baseball and softball games over the statewide UMass Sports Network and over the internet. For five of the last six years, Behler and his broadcast partners were honored as the Associated Press' Best Radio Play-by-Play in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. For 2005, Behler was honored for his work on UMass football, marking the second time the UMass football broadcasts took the top spot, winning in 2003, as well. Behler's basketball broadcasts have been honored three times - 2001, 2002, and 2004. During his first three years with the UMass Sports Network, Behler was employed by WHMP Radio in Northampton, where he was in charge of all the network's advertising, in addition to his play-by-play and hosting duties.

Prior to joining the UMass Sports Network, Behler spent 13 seasons as play-by-play announcer for Bucknell football, men's and women's basketball and baseball. At Bucknell, he was responsible for selling and producing the broadcasts, in addition to announcing the games. Behler also hosted and produced weekly coaches television shows for football and men's basketball.

Behler previously called play-by-play for the Chattanooga Lookouts AA and Williamsport Cubs A baseball teams, the University of Georgia baseball and women's basketball teams, and high school sports in his hometown of Stockton, Calif. He was named Outstanding Play-by-Play Announcer for Georgia in 1984-1985 by the Associated Press.

Behler is a 1985 graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in broadcast news.
