Funeral Arrangements For Coach Pickett Announced

Information on the funeral for former UMass football coach and administrator Bob Pickett has been announced. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, Feb. 12 at 10 a.m., at St. Pius X Church in Portland, Maine. The burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery in South Portland. Pickett passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 2 in Florida. Pickett was 75 years old and is survived by his wife Sylvia and children Robbin, Debbie and Judith. A-10 Rookie Performer Of The Week Goes To Jenssen

The Atlantic 10 Conference announced on Monday afternoon that freshman Michelle Jenssen was the A-10 Women's Indoor Track and Field Rookie Performer of the Week. This marks the third consecutive week that a UMass athlete has received the award. Jenssen has been the Minutewomen's top runner in the 400 meters this season, and was recognized for her efforts at the Giegengack Invitational. MORE

Watson Picks Up Pair Of Weekly Honors

After leading the UMass women's basketball team in scoring in both games last week, freshman Jasmine Watson was selected as the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week and named UMass Athlete of the Week on Monday. The 6-3 center was previously honored by the A-10 earlier this year as the league's Rookie of the Week on Jan. 18. MORE
