Bill Bloxsom of the Stratford Star has a story on UMass softball player and Stratford native Christine Della Vecchia. The middle infielder is coming off her freshmen season for the Minutewomen and rebounded from knee and hand injuries to play for the Stratford Brakettes. She gives the UMass athletic training staff (led by softball athletic trainer Mike Welch) credit for getting her back on the field so fast after her knee surgery this spring. Della Vecchia will be looking to use her Brakettes experience to become an even bigger contributor for UMass this coming season.
