Foxboro Reporter: Valenza Ready To Compete For Minutemen

David Carty of The Foxboro Reporter staff spoke with UMass men's lacrosse incoming freshman Luc Valenza recently to get Valenza's thoughts on his approaching collegiate career at UMass as well as to reflect on his successes at Foxboro High School.

"To play a varsity sport at a high level for all four high school years is difficult enough. Doing so in two different sports is even more of a rarity, but that's exactly what Luc Valenza accomplished in his Foxboro High athletic career.

Valenza cracked Jack Martinelli's football roster mid-season as a freshman, and made an immediate impact as a running back and linebacker, but his true forte came on the lacrosse field. The defender thumped, stymied and otherwise frustrated the best of the Hockomock League over his four years as a Warrior..."

ESPN Boston reporter Scott Barboza announced the Eastern Massachusetts Boys Lacrosse All-Americans during the previous week, with a pair of UMass men's lacrosse signees included in Mike Elcock and Luc Valenza.

Elcock is a long-stick midfielder and defenseman from Needham High School and Valenza played close defense for Foxborough.
