ESPN Sports Center: Thellen's Tip For INT At UConn Named Play Of The Day

In UMass' first ever game at the FBS level, Darren Thellen's tipped pass for an interception by Tom Brandt was named the Play of the Day on ESPN's SportsCenter. Thellen dove out of bounds to tip a pass by UConn QB Chandler Whitmer back into the field of play where Brandt secured the pick in the first quarter of play. It was Brandt's first career interception.

Today is a special one, its 10/10/10, a date that only occurs once every century with repeating 10s. Its a special day as well here for UMass Athletics as five members of the Maroon & White celebrate birthdays: football redshirt freshmen Theo Agnew, along with twins Tim Brandt and Tom Brandt will all age a year. They join swimmers Derek Hursch and Tarryn Teresak with the special 10/10/10 birthdays.

Natick Times has a nice feature on the Brandt and McCummings twins at UMass. In some ways, Tim Brandt is no different than any other person who has an identical twin. "When one of us is there, people often ask where the other is," said Tim, who has a twin brother Tom.
