Check out this feature story in the Worcester Telegram & Gazette about former UMass assistant coach Steve Spagnuolo, who leads his St. Louis Rams into Gillette Stadium on Thursday night. Coach Spags also earned a masters degree at UMass while coaching with the Minutemen.

Nuggets On Thursday's Patriots' Game

UMass basketball coach Derek Kellogg will be a special guest at the New England Patriots preseason game vs. the St. Louis Rams on Thursday night at Gillette Stadium. He is expected to be interviewed on the television broadcast of the game from the sidelines. Look for Coach DK on the air! 

 Also, the game is a homecoming for a former UMass assistant coach coach. Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo is a native of Northbridge, Mass., and a graduate of Springfield College, where he was a wide receiver. Before heading to the NFL he coached at UMass, UConn and Maine, among other schools. He made his name in the NFL as defensive coordinator for the Eagles and was the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants when the Giants beat the Patriots, 17-14, in Super Bowl XLII.
