UMass field hockey all-time great Judy Strong was named the head coach of the Western New England University Field Hockey program on Wednesday, as announced by WNEU Athletics.

At Massachusetts, Strong set the record for most points in a career at 202 on 88 goals and 26 assists. She also holds the record for most points in a single with 69 earned in 1980, while her 1979 and 1981 outputs are tied for the second-most accrued by a Minutewoman (58 points). Strong was the National Player of the Year in 1981 and earned three NFHCA All-America honors during her collegiate tenure. She simultaneously competed for the U.S. National Team during her time at UMass and made appearances at the 1980 and 1984 Olympic Games.
