Former UMass basketball player Rashaun Freeman has signed a contract with Israeli pro team BC Habikaa. The former Minuteman center played last season in Belgium for VOO Verviers-Pepinster, averaging 15.9 and eight rebounds per game. He led the league in rebounding. At the conclusion of the season, Freeman played two games for Puerto Rican team Isabela in June.

Here is coverage of his signing, and if you can read Hebrew, more coverage.

"This is a player on the rise that fits the Israeli league," said Habikaa Assistant Coach Shay Sglovic, "He is very dominant and very mobile, and he would fit well with the players we currently have. This was really our goal."
