Alexandria Valdez of the Denver Post took time to speak with UMass men's lacrosse alumnus Kevin Leveille (2000-03) and Team USA head coach Richie Meade about the experience and leadership Leveille has provided to the U.S. National Team during competition at the 2014 FIL World Championship. "COMMERCE CITY -- Kevin Leveille's journey to the World Lacrosse Championships was tumultuous. He tried out for Team USA four times in 12 years. It wasn't until his fourth attempt, which came this year, that he made the final 23-man roster.
'It didn't sink in for a couple days,' said Leveille, 32. 'I felt I've played pretty well and done the right things. You never know because the competition level is so high.'
The veteran attackman from Delmar, N.Y., is putting his perseverance and knowledge of lacrosse to use at the world tournament being played at Dick's Sporting Goods Park..."
