He was a star in both sports, leading each team to one of the more significant athletic achievements in their history - the first College World Series and first NIT appearance. He played freshman and varsity ball from 1967-70 during the end of one of the most successful decades in UMass history.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. at Czelusniak Funeral Home, 173 North St. in Northampton. A celebration of Ellerbrook's life will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Ray Ellerbrook Athletic Field at 48 Burts Pit Road.
