Here's a look at UMass alums in action on the opening day of action in Major League Lacrosse on Saturday.
The Boston Cannons topped the Long Island Lizards 15-12 in front of more than 9,000 fans at Harvard Stadium. Jack Reid played solid defense for the Cannons and had a groundball. With the Lizards Chris Fiore had a goal and assist in the fourth quarter.
The Chesapeake Bayhawks topped the Rochester Rattlers in the New York team's return, 14-10 in Annapolis. Jake Deane had four groundballs, playing for his hometown Bayhawks. With the Rattlers, Brett Garber and Diogo Godoi each saw action, but didn't post any points.
