A record-setting weekend came to a close yesterday with the No. 14 UMass women's lacrosse team earning its third consecutive Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse Championship Tournament title with a 16-12 win over Richmond. Jesse O'Donnell was named Tournament MVP after tying her career-high with five goals (eight for the weekend), while Jackie Lyons broke the UMass record for career points with two goals giving her 220 career points. Rookie Katie Ferris tied the school's single-season goals record of 52 as the high-octane Minutewomen racked up 32 goals to set a new league record for a tournament weekend.
UMass will host Canisius on Saturday at McGuirk Stadium (1 PM) for the NCAA Play-In Game.
