SPRINGFIELD - With their home ice covered as NCAA Division II Elite Eight basketball moves into the MassMutual Center, the Springfield Falcons practiced Tuesday at Romeo J. Cyr rink in Forest Park.

Last man to report back to their downtown locker room after the workout?

None other than goaltender Paul Dainton, a University of Massachusetts senior who signed Monday with Springfield's American Hockey League club.

"He didn't want to leave the ice," Falcons coach Rob Riley said. "He just loves to be out there. He stayed and kept at it. He has that kind of work ethic."
