Jets Moved Ducasse To Right Tackle

According to ESPN New York, the Jets have moved UMass alum Vladimir Ducasse to right guard.

The NFL off-season is filled with uncertainty, but one thing we do know: Though they haven't made any public announcements, the Jets have decided to move second-year offensive linemanVladimir Ducasse to right tackle. That, of course, could impact the future of incumbentDamien Woody

Ducasse, a second-round pick from UMass, played in only two games as a rookie, mop-up appearances. The organization talked him up after the draft, claiming he would battle Matt Slauson for the starting job at left guard. Ducasse, overwhelmed by the position change (he was a left tackle in college) and the speed of the NFL, never mounted a serious challenge. He was inactive for 11 games.

At 6-5, 325, Ducasse has the size to play right tackle. The question is whether he has enough agility to hold up in pass protection. Because of his raw power, he has the potential to be a terrific strong-side run blocker.
